ROLE

PROBLEM

The company has three separate landing pages for each of their offerings so users are unable to see the full scope. There's a missed opportunity to promote their capabilities.

Create a landing page in desktop and mobile view that showcases the company and all their services in one click.

SOLUTION

Founded in Washington, D.C., Go Together is committed to making transportation simple and efficient. Users can find reliable rides within their communities to get to voting polls and get their kids to and from school and sports practices/games. Go Together is putting back more time in people’s lives by reducing the hassle of finding a ride.

OVERVIEW

RESEARCH

UNDERSTANDING THE CLIENT

I kicked off the project by taking a look at their current website to get a better understanding of the organization. They use bright welcoming colors and thoughtful taglines to create a sense of community for their audience. Security and trust is vital to the organization as a carpooling service, especially because they deal with ride sharing for children.

I looked into their direct competitors with similar carpooling services for children and noticed a lot of similarities among them. But what made Go Together unique is their layer of security -- drivers can only participate if they're approved by school administrators. This step of safety and trust was a key component that I wanted to emphasize and build the design around.

My research showed me that their website is generally visually appealing and has strong content, but it is lacking a few important things for an effective landing page. I used my findings to make these objectives:

  • Add clear CTA buttons throughout the page to encourage viewers to proceed to the next step

  • Emphasize the benefits and features to build confidence in the brand

  • Include social proof from real users

IDEATION

SKETCHING IDEAS

I sketched a general layout of the landing page and a few variations of the hero section. I received feedback from my peers who suggested that I should add a sign-up form at the bottom. These are my initial and iterated sketches.

Road

DESIGN

FROM INK TO PIXELS

I went into Adobe XD to digitize my sketches into a wireframe and shared it again with fellow designers. They suggested that I shorten the text length to improve readability.

For the visual elements, I used Go Together’s branding and incorporated more muted colors to tone down their bright palette.

Moving into the prototype, I went back and forth with the layout of the hero image and the content of the landing page. Since this project focuses on the look of the product, I really wanted to emphasize the visual elements in a creative and meaningful way. It was an iteration journey, but I reached a place that I was happy with.
